OUR PRIVACY STATEMENT FOR DATA SUBJECTS WHOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE COLLECTED IN THE EUROPEAN UNION (EU): 

The BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Foundation (the “Foundation”) complies with European Union (“EU”) regulations regarding the processing and movement of personal data including the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”). 

EU GENERAL DATA PROTECTION REGULATION (“GDPR”): 

The BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Foundation (the “Foundation”) welcomes all donations and thus may receive donations from individuals within the European Economic Area (“EEA”). In order to carry out donor relations with these individuals, we may collect personal information from individuals (“Data Subjects”) located within the EEA. If you choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to Canada and process it here. The consent to our Privacy Policy followed by the submission of such information represents an agreement to that transfer. Personal information that may be collected by us from a Data Subject i.e. Donor in the EEA, may include but is not limited to:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Email Address

YOUR RIGHTS:

If you are a resident of the EEA, you have certain data protection rights. All individuals whose personal information is held by us have the:

  • Right to be informed: ask what information the Foundation holds about them and why; 
  • Right to rectification: have your information rectified if it is inaccurate or incomplete
  • Right to access: ask for a copy of such information or access to such information; 
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten): ask for data to be erased if possible
  • Right to restrict processing: ask for processing of personal information to be restricted 
  • Right to object: object to processing of personal information if possible
  • Right to withdraw consent: right to withdraw your consent where consent was the lawful basis for processing your information.

NON-DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION:

The Foundation does not share any personal information with any non-trusted third parties (please see our full Privacy Policy for more information).

EXCEPTION:

Business contact information and other information that is publicly available is not considered to be personal information. Information available in the public domain is not subject to privacy legislation and as such is not included in this statement.
