Saturday October 13, 2018
Pan Pacific Vancouver
300 - 999 Canada Place, Vancouver
This annual event is an exclusive invitation-only gala attended by 350 of Vancouver’s elite business, healthcare and philanthropic leaders who are committed to providing revolutionary healthcare for women in BC. GLOW Gala will feature coveted silent and live auction items, a raffle and wine pull, live entertainment, a celebrity emcee, and a 3 course dinner provided by the hotel.
Always at the forefront of offering innovative, world-class health care, BC Women’s has been providing a woman-centred model of Labour and Delivery care for over 20 years. This means empowering women to choose the kind of care + birthing experience they would like. Being offered a range of pain relief, or none at all. Being offered a water birth, or space to pace privately, or equipment to support an active labour.
With the increase in patient volume in the coming years, the need for expansion is critical. BC Women’s is increasing its’ capacity to serve women with low-risk pregnancies through BC Women’s Maternity Suite Expansion – offering room to grow 175 unique families per year.
BENEFITS OF MATERNITY SUITES
Women - Increased satisfaction in all areas including provision of information and support, physical environment, nursing care, patient education, assistance with infant feeding, respect for privacy and preparation for discharge.
Staff - Nurses can respond better to the whole family’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs in a single room environment.
Economics - Reduced number of nurses required to be on shift and often a shortened length of stay for the mother and newborn.
Maternity Suites are designed to provide a positive birthing experience, and offer options for the kind of care and experience a woman would like. Women are empowered to dictate their own care, and decide what’s best for them.
