A donation of $10,000 helps empower patients of the BC Women’s Complex Chronic Diseases Program to self-manage their condition with personalized educational tools.

Imagine you have been physically sick for months and you don’t know why or how to get better. For an estimated 100,000 British Columbians – approximately 80% are women -- this is the daily reality of living with a Complex Chronic Disease.

Difficult to diagnose and often misunderstood, Complex Chronic Diseases include: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia Syndrome.

Pacific Blue Cross and their Community Connection Health Foundation are supporting patients at the provincial BC Women's Complex Chronic Diseases Program to improve their health and wellness through education and self-management.

A generous $10,000 donation empowers patients of the program with an easy to use educational tool that will enhance their ability to follow their personalized self-management plan they develop with their care team. Patients will be able to use the tool to track their health and make adjustments to their management-plan with their doctors.

Here is the video created to help patients understand what they can expect when they enter the program.

Please see the video developed to explain about the pain in fibromylagia.
