J (short for Jason, a name he always hated, much to his mother's chagrin) joined BCWHF in January 2017 after working in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside for a decade doing development, community engagement and communications work. He's passionate about social justice, fighting the system and pursuing equality alongside those experiencing marginalization. J loves the power and imagery contained within words and frequently obsesses over how to best assemble them for maximum impact. He is a rabid optimist and believes that anybody can change the world. He is the father of two awesome boys and is terrible at softball, golf, and snowboarding.

Erin has been involved in the non-profit sector in various capacities throughout her career. She is drawn to examining social issues, advocating for change, and investing in the local community. Her role as part of the Foundation family perfectly blends her passions and interests with her skills gained through her background as a Philosophy major and a designated CPA, CA. Outside of work, having grown up as a competitive figure skater, Erin continues to feel fulfilled by a variety of athletic pursuits as a dedicated weekend warrior. She can often be found drinking good coffee, eating healthy food, and cultivating relationships with those she is closest to.

As a natural born sales women, Michelle, decided long ago that she wanted to sell good ideas rather than stuff. After sharpening her chops for eight years at TransLink in sustainable transportation, she had a baby at BC Women’s Hospital and pondered the idea of a career transition. Naturally, when she was presented with the opportunity to coordinate campaigns at BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Foundation, she embraced the new role and the quest to improve health outcomes for women and newborns. There she utilizes her many years of community engagement, marketing and communications to develop creative and provocative campaigns inspiring awareness and giving back to the Foundation. When not at her desk, you can find her riding a bike, juggling motherhood and contributing her time to community walking initiatives such as Janes Walk.

Alina is excited to be working with the visionaries at BC Women’s to change the tide on women’s health. She is passionate about making her own small contribution to a better world through her work. Born and raised in Vancouver, Alina is an avid traveller but always comes home to her city and family. In her free time, she can be found buried in a book or playing games with friends.

With a background in academic writing and research, and a penchant for social justice, Aimee has been happily supporting women’s health at BC Women’s Foundation since 2014. Before that she travelled the world, completed a Masters in Sociology at the University of Toronto, had a few daughters and explored a wide variety of occupations – from the cattle station to the Crawford School of Public Policy and a lot in between. She has many passions… chocolate, swimming, minimal german tech, the sauna, family feasts…but chief among them is bringing the right people together to enhance equity for women and girls. When not writing proposals you’ll probably find her frolicking on the beach or in the wilderness with her dog and family.

She is the proud mother of one fiercely amazing daughter and loves spending her time with her family, friends and her dog Frenchie!

Emma always knew she wanted to change the world, and discovering non-profit work meant she could join forces with others to do it. Emma’s social justice heart ultimately met feminist theory, and challenging the thinking, actions and systems that contribute to women’s oppression has been front and centre ever since. When Emma’s not working with people choosing to make the world a better place, you can find her attempting to make people laugh, trying out new foody flavours, or visiting a festival.
