Strategic Partnerships Officer

We are seeking an experienced, well organized and dynamic individual (with a sense of humour) who is interested in becoming a part of the team that is going to move the needle on women’s health. Under the general direction of the Chief Strategy Officer, BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre Foundation, the Strategic Partnerships Officer leads the overall logistics of all signature fundraising and third-party events; oversees and provides guidance and support to volunteers and staff to ensure successful achievement of objectives; and ensures sponsorship deliverables are executed, tracked and reported.

Specific Accountabilities 

       Signature Events/Third Party Community Events

  • Leads the logistical and coordination details of signature events and third-party events, including researching options, confirming bookings, maintaining working relationships with vendors and other activities to enhance the guest experience and revenue generation for the event.
  • Responsible for the overall strategy of volunteer recruitment, retaining, organizing and communications for all volunteer roles for all BCWHF events.
  • Participates and contributes on designated committees for BCWHF events.
  • Given the nature of events, works irregular hours including evenings, weekends.

      Sponsorships and Donors

  • Responsible for securing sponsors and relationship management for all BCWHF event $5,000 and under
  • Oversees and responsible for all sponsorship tracking + deliverables for all events.
  • Researches and identifies prospective in kind donors for events; composes solicitation letters and follows up.

      Records and Reporting

  • Oversees volunteers and co-ops in the post-event follow-up reports and tracking data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the Chief Strategy Officer.


     Education + Experience 

     An undergraduate degree in a related field or diploma in related field with at least 3 years’ experience in event organization in a       fundraising environment.

Skills +Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and administrative skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and event logistics simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills particularly as it relates to event communication, marketing, and reporting outcomes.
  • Sound ability to develop planning, think strategically, and motivate others to fulfill objectives.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and self-motivation and, at the same time, work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels, internal and external to the organization.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of event logistics and event sponsorship practices.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of prospect and donor relations best practices.
  • Skilled problem solving orientation and ability to consider complex variables and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and produce high quality work to deadline while maintaining composure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), donor database software (Raiser’s Edge), web-page design and social media,
  • Understanding of budgets.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends.
