Independent Special Events

Independent Special Events, or third party fundraising events, happen throughout the year and throughout the province. Anyone interested in helping support BC Women's can hold a fundraising event, from bake sales and car washes to baseball and soccer tournaments. To organize a third party event, interested parties are asked to contact the foundation office and discuss details with foundation staff. Once approved by the foundation office, individuals who organize an event are responsible for the planning and execution of their events, assisted by BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre Foundation where possible. Areas of assistance include hospital information and advice from our fundraising staff.

The Oak Tree Clinic was the first Centre in Western Canada to document a decrease in the transmission of HIV from mother to baby through the use of drug therapy.

Since our inception 75 years ago, we have delivered over 280,000 babies.

Our Reproductive Mental Health Program provides treatment and support to women with postpartum depression and severe premenstrual syndrome.
Our Sexual Assault Service provides comprehensive and compassionate care to survivors of sexual assault.
Fir Square is a unique program assisting substance addicted women to reduce harm to their unborn babies through education and treatment.
