TELUS

May 2, 2014
When BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre Foundation needed support from the business community, TELUS was the first to step forward.

TELUS immediately made a leadership contribution to the Newborn Intensive Care Unit Campaign and encouraged others to get involved.

With the largest corporate donation, TELUS set a high standard that helped to raise awareness and drive the campaign forward.  This early support from TELUS inspired other businesses, large and small, to contribute.

TELUS has a long history of giving to BC Women’s. Our newborn and women’s health programs have benefited from TELUS’s generous support for over 20 years, as well as many volunteer hours from the company’s senior leaders.

We introduced baby Francis to our friends at TELUS where they learned about his 99 day stay in the Newborn ICU. Because of the dramatic advances in neonatal technologies the delivery of care to premature and critically ill newborns, each year nearly 1400 tiny patients like Francis are able to receive the care they need to return home healthy.

Stories like Francis’ inspire TELUS to "give where we live." That’s why they’re committed to helping sick and fragile babies receive the best healthcare possible. In support of the BC Women’s Hospital Hope Starts Here capital campaign, TELUS has committed $650,000 to upgrade and enhance the technology needs within the Newborn ICU. This contribution brings TELUS’ support of BC Women’s Hospital to $2 million since 1991, improving the lives of countless women, newborns and their families.

The TELUS philosophy of giving extends broadly into the communities where employees live and work. A recipient of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ international award for the Most Outstanding Philanthropic Organization, TELUS is known for leading the way in social corporate citizenship. TELUS also finds innovative ways to involve employees and members of the community in raising funds for causes that matter.
