BC Women's Milk Bank is calling for mothers to become milk donors
CTV News' Correspondent Sheila Scott reports on the growing need for donor breast milk. The Provincial Milk Bank at BC Women's Hospital is looking for women to donate milk to help critically ill babies in Newborn Intensive Care Units throughout the province.
Since 1974 the Milk Bank has helped thousands of babies, screened almost four thousand donors and processed approximately one and half million ounces of milk.
The need for milk continues to increase, especially now, as it's collecting milk to share with other NICU's in BC. BC Women's is looking for new donors so it's always there to help the most fragile babies.
