As Head of the Department of Family Practice at BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre, a role she has held for the last five years, Dr. Buhler truly brings the “plus” to everything she does. Colleagues credit her approachable and inclusive nature and describe her as an exceptional role model. Dr. Buhler is committed to building a sense of team and shared pride in achieving excellent patient outcomes.

Dr. Buhler's significant contributions recognized by her PHSA+ Award include:
- Improvements to education and training for medical staff at BC Women's;
- Leading the way in creating the "Centering Pregnancy Program,” an innovative style of prenatal care that combines prenatal education and medical care in a group setting. This program has received a tremendous reception from women and families.
- Working with BC Women’s Foundation to ensure that every woman who delivers at BC Women’s has access to mobile telemetry during labour.
- Championing Lean methodology and imPROVE at BC Women’s, spreading the message about the importance of small continuous improvements to positively impact patient care and the healthcare environment.
