Perinatal Educators win PHSA+ Award

Meet the Perinatal Clinical Educators in Birthing team who are continuously focused on improvements for the betterment of the patients they serve.

The Perinatal Educators in Birthing Team was responsible for planning and implementing the first large-scale inter-professional simulations for the birthing program.   This simulation which you can see in this video, focused on obstetrical emergency in the form of postpartum hemorrhage.

The simulations led to the creation of new policies, as well as revisions of older policies related to direct patient care, which directly led to a change in supplies and a reduction in delays in patient care. The educator group presented their findings on the simulation at various conferences.

They truly live the PHSA value of Patients First – by providing high touch, high value patient-centred care and the value of Open to Possibilities – by constantly focusing on how to improve the patient care experience

Congratulations on being named this year’s PHSA+ Award winners in the Team category!
