Dr. Wendy Norman Awarded CIHR/PHAC Chair

Dr. Wendy Norman was awarded the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)/Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) Chair in Applied Public Health Research dedicated to Family Planning Research. 

This is the first award of its kind for the UBC Department of Family Practice.  This prestigious award will support five years of research salaries including graduate students, research support staff and related research activities. 

Dr. Norman has been a leader in Family Planning research through her 8-year Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research funded research program “Family Planning Health Services Research”.  

She is also well known for her leadership in a national collaboration the Canadian Contraception Access Research Team (CART/GRAC) which aims to ensure equal access to family planning knowledge and services available for women and families in Canada.
