Support for teen girls who have experienced abuse

September 1, 2011
Thanks to $30,000 from Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, BC Women’s will be taking steps to address the shortfall in programming for young women facing abuse.

Although adolescent girls and young women experience the highest rates of violence from a partner, there are currently few “girl-friendly” resources or supports available to them.

Coast Capital Savings Credit Union's donation to BC Women’s Foundation will enable the hospital’s Woman Abuse Response Program (WARP) to begin to develop “girl-friendly and girl-centred” resources and services to support improved mental, physical and social health among young women in BC.
